About Bangalore Institute of Technology.

 Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) was started in the year 1979 with the objective of providing quality education in the field of Technology and thereby serving the society. It has reached enviable level of excellence in technical education. This was achieved due to the unconditional support of Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, committed staff and students. The environment of BIT motivates the student to quench their thirst for knowledge. The college thrives to achieve the all-round development of the students.

BIT has always been at the forefront of modern technology and has the distinction of being the first College to introduce a full-fledged degree in Computer Science and Engineering in Karnataka. The institute has visualized the areas of future growth and incorporated various courses over the years. At present BIT has 10 undergraduate, 10 post graduate and 13 research centers. BIT has an annual intake of 1300 students. There are a number of centers carrying out inter-disciplinary research and many collaborative programs exist between the college and other professional institutions, like IISc, NAL. The Chemistry department has been recognized as one of the latest research centers in Karnataka. BIT also has the acclaim of being the Study center for IGNOU programmes.

BIT is proud to say that it has 289 faculty members with excellent knowledge and teaching caliber. 83 faculty members have PhD degree and 71 are pursuing PhD. Sixty percent of faculty members have served BIT for more than twenty years. The Institution has 294 efficient and committed team of supporting staff.

Comed-K: 30% of total seats are reserved in BIT for Comed-k counseling for students from all parts of India.

K-CET: 50% of the total seats in BIT are allocated through K-CET Counseling conducted by KEA only for Karnataka state students.

Comed-k, K-CET exams are held every year for B.E engineering degree courses admission in private, government and deemed engineering colleges in Karnataka.

Through Entrance Exams:
Apply for K-CET entrance exams for Karnataka students who have completed their 1oth and 12th from state boards.

Minimum Cut-off
BIT, Bangalore >> Rank must be below 5 thousand

Apply for Comedk entrance exams for students outside Karnataka looking for admission in BIT must score good rank to secure a seat.

25% of seats in Bangalore Institute of Technology is reserved for B.E direct admission for students from all parts of India looking to join bit on class 12th marks.

Category: General Merit Candidates

Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the four years B.E. degree course should have passed two years of P.U.C. / 12^th examinations conducted by the Pre-University Board of Karnataka State or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visveswaraya Technology University and should have obtained a minimum of 45% of aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

Category: SC/ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A 3B) Candidates

Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the four years B.E. degree course should have passed two years of P.U.C. / 12^th examinations conducted by the Pre-University Board of Karnataka State or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visveswaraya Technology University and should have obtained a minimum of 40% of aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination. 

Admission through Management Quota

·        ENGINEERING: Candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry are compulsory subjects.
